Winning 2024 Strategy: NFL Fantasy Rankings - PPR Guide.

Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into fantasy football again this year, and one of the biggest things I needed to nail down was my player rankings, especially for PPR (points per reception) leagues. Let me walk you through what I did.

Winning 2024 Strategy: NFL Fantasy Rankings - PPR Guide.

First, I grabbed a bunch of different ranking lists from the usual suspects – you know, the big-name sports websites. I didn’t just stick to one, though. I wanted to see what everyone was saying, get a feel for the general consensus.

Then, I opened up a good old spreadsheet. Nothing fancy, just something to keep track of everything. I listed out all the players I was even remotely considering, and then I started plugging in their rankings from each of those different sources.

Sorting it all Out

This is where it got a little tedious, but it’s super important. I went through and averaged out the rankings for each player. So, if one site had a guy at number 5 and another had him at 15, I’d split the difference and put him around 10. This gave me a baseline, a kind of “wisdom of the crowd” ranking.

  • Checked for Injuries: News changes fast, so I had to keep double-checking for any injuries or suspensions that could impact a player’s value.
  • Considered Bye Weeks: This is crucial. I made sure to spread out my top players so I don’t take a zero on their bye weeks.
  • Looked at Team Situations: Did a player switch teams? Is their quarterback any good? Is their offensive line going to give them time to, you know, actually catch the ball? All this stuff matters.
  • My Experience:This step I am very confident, combined with my previous game data, this step can help me filter and adjust player data.

After all that, I had my own customized PPR rankings! It’s not perfect, and it’s definitely going to change as the season goes on and we see who’s actually performing. But it’s a solid starting point, and it’s way better than just blindly following some random list I found online. I also constantly optimize and update my data by checking the player’s status and adjusting my expectations.

Honestly, the whole process is kind of a mix of research, gut feeling, and a little bit of luck. But putting in the work beforehand definitely gives you an edge. Good luck with your own fantasy season!
