Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings: Start Em or Sit Em?

Alright, so, week 2 of fantasy football, huh? Let me tell you, I spent a good chunk of my Sunday diving deep into player rankings. Here’s how it all went down.

Week 2 Fantasy Football Rankings: Start Em or Sit Em?

First Thing’s First: Checking for Injuries

Before even thinking about rankings, I scrolled through all the injury reports. Gotta know who’s playing, who’s questionable, and who’s definitely out. Can’t rank a guy who’s sitting on the bench with an ice pack, right?

Digging into Last Week’s Stats

Next, I pulled up the stats from Week 1. I wasn’t just looking at total points. I was checking out things like targets for receivers, carries for running backs, and snap counts for everyone. Basically, I needed to see who was actually getting opportunities on the field.

  • How many times was the receiver thrown to?
  • Did a running back get most of the carries, or was it a committee?
  • how many time the player on the field?

Matchup, Matchup, Matchup

Then came the fun part – analyzing this week’s matchups. I looked at which defenses were tough against the run, which ones were giving up a ton of passing yards, and which ones were just plain bad. This is HUGE for figuring out who might have a big game.

Putting It All Together: The Actual Rankings

Finally, I started putting together my own rankings. It was a mix of everything I’d researched. I considered:

  • Player Talent: Obviously, a star player is usually a good bet.
  • Opportunity: Are they getting the touches they need to score points?
  • Matchup: Are they playing against a weak defense?
  • Injury Status: Are there andy concerns or injury issues?

I went position by position, debating between players, moving them up and down my list. It’s not an exact science, but I felt pretty good about my final rankings after all that *’s all about taking notes, keeping up with the news.

It’s a process, that’s for sure! But hey, that’s what makes fantasy football so addictive, isn’t it? Good luck with your week 2.
