Alright, so I’ve been diving deep into fantasy football lately, and one thing I’ve found super helpful is doing practice drafts. Let me walk you through how I’ve been tackling them.

First, I jumped onto a platform that offers mock drafts. I did this because I want to do more practices.
Then I started joining some mock draft lobbies. It’s cool because you get to draft against other real people, which makes it feel more like the real deal. Sometimes, I’d end up in a room with some super serious guys, other times it’s more casual, but you always get a feel for different drafting styles.
My Drafting Process
- First few rounds: I usually go for the best players available, regardless of position. You know, the big names that everyone wants. I figure, get the top talent first, then worry about filling out the roster later.
- Middle rounds: This is where it gets tricky. I start looking at what positions I still need. If I’m light on running backs, I’ll focus on those. I also start paying attention to bye weeks – you don’t want all your star players out the same week!
- Later rounds: Here’s where I take some chances on sleepers – guys that might not be well-known but have the potential to explode. I also make sure to grab a solid kicker and defense. It’s easy to forget about them, but they can win you weeks!
After each draft, I took some time to analyze my team. I’d look at the strengths and weaknesses, what positions I felt good about, and where I might be lacking. It’s helpful to think about that.
I kept doing this over and over, trying out different strategies. Sometimes I’d go heavy on running backs early, other times I’d wait and load up on wide receivers. I kept this practice until I get the best team.
