Okay, so I decided to get a jump on my fantasy football prep for 2024. I mean, who doesn’t want to dominate their league, right? It’s never too early to start thinking about potential league-winners.
Getting Started: Gathering Intel
First thing I did was dive into some early rankings and projections. You know, just browsing around, I checked out a few different expert consensus rankings to get a feel for the overall landscape. I didn’t want to just rely on one source, wanted to see where there was agreement and where there were some big differences.
I started scribbling down names that kept popping up in the top tiers of each position. Quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends – the whole shebang. Made a messy list, but hey, that’s part of the process.
Digging Deeper: The Eye Test & Stats
Next, I started thinking about last season. Who really impressed me? Who seemed like they were on the verge of a breakout? I went back and watched some highlights, just to refresh my memory. Sometimes, the stats don’t tell the whole story. You gotta see those guys in action.
- I spent hours poring over player stats from 2023.
- Looked at things like targets, receptions, rushing attempts, touchdowns.
- Also checked out some advanced metrics, tried to get a full picture.
My Early “Top Picks” List (Work in Progress!)
Based on all that digging, I started to form some early opinions. Like, there are a few guys I’m already really high on. And some others I’m keeping a close eye on, could be sneaky good values later in drafts.

The Ongoing Process
Of course, this is just the beginning. I’ll be keeping up with all the offseason news – trades, free agency signings, injuries, everything. It all impacts player value. And I’ll be doing more mock drafts as we get closer to the season, just to get a feel for where guys are actually going.
So, that’s my early fantasy football prep in a nutshell. Lots of research, lots of list-making, and a whole lot of hoping I can snag those league-winners come draft day! I will keep refine the list, watch, and wait for the upcoming football season.
