Okay, so I’ve been messing around with fantasy football for a while now, and with the 2024 season coming up, I figured it was time to really get serious about my draft strategy. I decided to put together my own list of the top 50 players for this year. Here’s how I did it.

First off, I grabbed a bunch of data from previous seasons. I looked at all the usual stuff – total points, points per game, and how consistent each player was. But you can’t just rely on last year’s stats, right? Things change.
So, I started digging into some other factors. I checked out each team’s offensive line situation. A good O-line can make a decent running back look like a superstar. I also looked at coaching changes. A new offensive coordinator could mean a totally different game plan, which could boost or hurt certain players.
Then, I factored in age and injury history. You gotta be careful with older players, especially running backs, because their performance can drop off quickly. And if a guy’s always getting hurt, he’s not gonna help your fantasy team much.
After gathering all that info, I started putting together my rankings. I used a simple spreadsheet to keep track of everything. I went player by player, comparing their stats, considering their team situation, and making adjustments based on my gut feeling. It was a lot of back and forth. I might have moved a certain player up ten spots one day, then dropped him five spots the next day after thinking about it some more.
My Top 5
- Christian McCaffrey – This guy is a no-brainer. He is the best player.
- Tyreek Hill – Even with the questions in Miami, he is gonna produce.
- Justin Jefferson – He’s just a beast, even with a new QB.
- CeeDee Lamb – He’s the clear number one option in Dallas.
- Bijan Robinson – I’m betting on a big year for him.
Finally, I ended up with my top 50 list. It’s not perfect, of course, and things will definitely change as we get closer to the season and during the season. But I feel pretty good about it. I think it’s a solid starting point for anyone getting ready for their fantasy draft.
This whole process taught me that there’s a lot more to fantasy football than just looking at last year’s stats. You gotta do your homework and really think about all the different factors that can affect a player’s performance. I plan to update the data regularly so I’m sharing this with all of you.
