Okay, here’s my blog post about my experience building a Top 100 players list for fantasy football:

Alright, so I decided to finally get my act together and prep for my fantasy football draft. It’s, like, super important to have a good draft, you know? So I figured I’d make a list of the top 100 players. Sounds easy, right? Wrong!
Getting Started
First, I grabbed my laptop and opened up a bunch of browser tabs. I mean, a bunch. I had ESPN, *, FantasyPros, you name it. I was drowning in stats and opinions. My desk was a mess of papers with player names scribbled all over them.
I started by just jotting down the obvious names. Like, duh, Patrick Mahomes, Justin Jefferson, those guys. But then it got tricky. Who’s the better running back this year? Is that rookie wide receiver going to be a breakout star? My brain was frying.
The Messy Middle
This is where things got really messy. I started comparing stats, reading expert analysis (which all seemed to contradict each other!), and even watching some highlight reels. I felt like I was going in circles. One minute I was convinced a player was a sure thing, the next I was crossing them off my list.
I even tried to create my own scoring system, which was a total disaster. Let’s just say my Excel skills aren’t exactly elite. I spent, like, an hour trying to figure out a formula, and it still didn’t make sense. Abandoned that project!
The Final Stretch
After, like, hours of this, I finally started to see some light at the end of the tunnel. I narrowed down my list, made some tough choices (goodbye, my sweet sleeper picks!), and organized it all into a somewhat respectable top 100.
The Result
It’s not perfect, of course. I’m sure I’ll look back at this in a few months and laugh at some of my choices. But hey, at least I have something. It’s a starting point, a guide, a… well, it’s a list of 100 football players that I think are pretty good. My hand was cramping, my eyes were tired.
Here’s a simplified breakdown of my “process”:
- Opened a million tabs.
- Wrote down the obvious names.
- Freaked out about the rest.
- Tried (and failed) to be a stats genius.
- Made a list!
Now, I just gotta hope my league-mates don’t see this post. Wish me luck!
