Alright, so today I wanted to share my experience messing around with the Sports Tutor Tennis Twist ball machine. It was a fun day, let me tell you.

First off, I unpacked this thing. It’s pretty compact, which is nice. I’m no professional, just a guy who likes to whack some tennis balls now and then. So, this Tennis Twist, it’s supposedly designed for beginners, and I thought, “Why not?”
I carried it out to my backyard – it’s light enough that it wasn’t a hassle. Setting it up was a breeze. Basically, I just turned it on. No complicated buttons or settings to fiddle with. It’s got this spiral design inside where you load the balls. I loaded it up, turned the switch, and stepped back.
Every five seconds, bam, it shoots out a ball. I started swinging, trying to get a feel for it. The balls weren’t coming super fast, which is perfect for me because, as I said, I’m no pro. The machine lets you adjust the arc of the ball, somewhere between 12 to 20 feet. I played around with that a bit, moving it closer and farther to see how it changed things up.
- I started with the arc at around 12 feet. This was pretty comfortable, giving me enough time to get into position and take a swing.
- Then, I cranked it up to about 20 feet. This was more of a challenge. I had to move quicker to get to the ball in time.
I spent a good hour just hitting balls, getting a decent workout in the process. I realized, this thing is pretty handy for practicing on my own. No need to beg a friend to come hit with me.
After a while, I started trying out different shots – forehands, backhands, even tried a few volleys by standing closer to the machine. It was a bit awkward at first, but I got the hang of it.
When I was done, I just turned it off, gathered the balls, and that was it. Clean up was as easy as setup.
Wrapping Up
Overall, I’d say the Tennis Twist is a solid little machine for casual players like me. It’s simple to use, doesn’t take up much space, and it’s a fun way to get some practice in. If you’re just starting out with tennis or just want something to help you improve your game without breaking the bank, this might be worth checking out.
