Sexy Beach Tennis Style: Best Outfits and Gear for Playing This Summer

Man, figuring out beach tennis gear this summer turned into its own little adventure. I grabbed my dusty old tennis racket, slapped on some regular athletic shorts and a cotton tee, and marched down to the beach feeling pretty ready.

Big mistake. Huge.

First Run Down Disaster

The sand sucked. Shoes filled up instantly, felt like bricks on my feet. Had to kick them off. Barefoot felt weird at first, but way better for moving. That cotton tee though? Clung like crazy the second I started sweating. Felt damp and heavy by like, point three. My regular tennis shorts got weighed down too, pockets full of damn sand.

Could barely chase a ball. Looked like a hot mess flailing around. Probably entertained the seagulls.

Time for a Re-Boot

Okay, lesson painfully learned. Needed actual beach gear. Hit up a few local shops aimed at water folks:

  • Top Half: Grabbed two thin, stretchy tank tops. Material felt slick, like it wouldn’t hold water. One plain, one kinda bright because summer vibes.
  • Bottom Half: Found these weirdly short athletic shorts everyone seemed to be wearing. Super light, loose fit. Swapped out my tight, regular tennis shorts for these instantly. Freedom!
  • Underneath: Snagged a few moisture-wicking boxer briefs. No more chafing nightmares, please.
  • Eyeballs: My regular shades kept slipping when I moved fast. Got some sporty ones that actually gripped my head.
  • Feet: Almost forgot! Got some basic non-blister socks – thin, mostly nylon or something.

Test Drive: Round Two

Next beach trip felt like a different sport.

  • The tank top? Amazing. Breathable, didn’t feel glued to me.
  • Those short shorts? Gold. So much easier to move, and way cooler.
  • Sports shades stayed put! Finally saw the ball without constant adjustments.

Didn’t die of heat stroke this time. Actually could focus on hitting the ball (badly, but still!).

Did I Look Sexy?

Who knows? Definitely didn’t feel sexy dripping sweat before. But feeling light, free, dry-ish, and mobile? Yeah, that makes you feel way better moving your body under the sun. Feeling comfortable and confident is probably the sexiest beach tennis vibe you can get. The gear just helps you actually get there without wanting to collapse or fiddle with your clothes constantly.

Solid win. My wallet might disagree.
