Okay so my kid’s starting at Bearden High this fall, and you know how it is – gotta figure out the football schedule. Old days you just got a paper schedule shoved in your hand at registration, right? Guess that’s gone now, everything’s online. Pain in the neck sometimes, gotta hunt for stuff.

Starting the Search: Straight to Google Maps?
First thing I tried? Figured I’d be smart. Popped open Google Maps on my laptop, clunked “Bearden High School Knoxville” into the search bar. Maps showed up fine, nice picture of the school and all. I scanned down the info panel, looking for anything like “Events” or “Schedule”. Nothing doing. Zip. Nada. Just the address, phone number, website link, and some photos. Not gonna cut it. Maybe other schools do it different, but Bearden wasn’t playing ball.
Plan B: The Classic Google Search
Okay, scrap that. Opened a fresh Google tab. Typed in “bearden high school bulldogs football schedule 2024“. Hit enter. First result? MaxPreps. Seems legit, high school sports stuff. Clicked that.
Ugh. Page loaded. Saw the Bearden Bulldogs logo alright. But scrolled down… where’s the schedule? Looked everywhere. Saw some stuff about the team, maybe last year’s record? Annoying. Couldn’t find the actual, you know, dates and opponents for this 2024 season on MaxPreps for Bearden. Gave up after poking around a minute.
Scanned down the search results again. Saw links for HS Football Schedules, another one… clicked one. Searched for “Bearden” on their site. Found a Bearden Bulldogs entry! Clicked it excitedly… and boom. “Schedule Unavailable”. Perfect. Just great. Thanks for nothing, random schedule site.
Hitting the Source: Bearden’s Own Site
At this point, I’m getting kinda grumpy. Shoulda just started here probably. Went back to my search results and clicked the link for “Bearden High School Official Website“. Figured they gotta have it.
Landed on the Bearden High homepage. Looked around. Menu? Tried “Academics” – nope, wrong place. Tried “Student Life“… no obvious sports section. Finally spotted “Athletics” or maybe “SportsZone“. Different schools call it different junk. Clicked that.
Alright! Athletics section! Now to find football. Scrolling… baseball, volleyball… aha! Football! Clicked “Varsity Football“. Heart sinking… please just have a schedule tab…
Phew! Saw “2024 Football Schedule” or something similar. Clicked that. Oh boy. Sometimes you get a nice list. This one? A calendar view. Like, seriously? Clicked into it. Okay, so you gotta view by month. Clicked “August“. There it is! Little boxes with opponents. “Bearden vs. Science Hill” – Boom! Found it!
Scrolled through September, October… all the way to November. Found all the home games, away games, some with locations listed right there on the event.
Wrap Up: Mission Accomplished (But Took the Scenic Route)
Took me longer than it should’ve. Got sidetracked by Google Maps (why?), fooled by MaxPreps (useless for Bearden), tricked by other schedule sites (why even exist if they got nothing?), and finally found the darn thing hiding in plain sight on Bearden’s own website.
- Key Lesson? Go straight to the source (school website) next time.
- How it works? Look for Athletics/Sportszone -> Football -> Schedule.
- For 2024? It’s all there on their online calendar view. Screenshot taken for good measure!
Anyway, got what I needed. Kid knows when the games are. Hope someone finds this rant helpful. Good luck finding your high school schedules, folks!
