So this morning I wanted to find out when that high school hoops tournament’s happening next year. You know, the NCSAA one. Figured I’d check their site first thing.
Starting the Hunt
Grabbed my coffee and went straight to the NCSAA main website around 7am. Scrolled through menus clicking anything saying “events” or “tournaments.” Took forever but finally spotted tiny text saying “2025 Championship Info Coming Soon.” Not helpful at all.
Checked social media next since official accounts sometimes post early. Scrolled Twitter searches for #NCSAAhoops and #NCSAA2025 for like 20 minutes. Saw hype videos from players but zero schedule details.
The Breakthrough Moment
Remembered my buddy Tim coaches JV ball. Texted him asking if he’d heard anything. He replied “schedule just dropped!” with a screenshot from their coaches portal. Jackpot! But the pic was blurry as heck – couldn’t read half the dates.
Called our local athletic director after lunch. Got transferred three times but finally reached someone who emailed me the official PDF release. Saw it was stamped 8:15am this morning – no wonder it wasn’t everywhere yet!
Organizing the Info
Opened that PDF on my laptop and started pulling key dates:
- Regionals kick off March 4th in four cities
- Elite 8 games all day March 15th starting 9am EST
- Championship showdowns March 22nd at 1pm and 3pm
Noticed the PDF had confusing bracketing colors so I:
- Made separate lists for boys/girls divisions
- Highlighted all tip-off times in yellow
- Flagged cities hosting multiple rounds
Triple-checked everything against the coaches’ email Tim forwarded. Found one typo in the original PDF – Friday games said Feb 28th instead of March 1st!
Sharing the Final Schedule
Posted clear bullet points on my blog around 4pm. Made sure to:
- Lead with championship dates first
- Explain time zones clearly
- Add bold warnings for ticket pre-sale dates
Double-posted just the championship times to Instagram. Used that neon-orange text overlay so it pops. Already got twelve coaches sliding into DMs thanking me – made the whole scramble totally worth it!
