So my kid’s playing football for Plymouth High this season, and I needed the dang schedule. Kept hearing “check online” but couldn’t find the 2023 times anywhere specific. Figured I’d share how I finally nailed it down, step by messy step.
The Frustrating Search Begins
Started simple. Grabbed my phone, opened Google, and typed “Plymouth High School football schedule 2023.” Hit search. Bam. Tons of results, right? Looked promising at first glance.
- First link: Some national sports site listing every game ever played since 1999. Nope. Not helpful.
- Second link: Last season’s schedule. Useless.
- Third link: Broke down how awesome their 2018 team was. Cool story, wrong year.
Felt like I was digging through digital trash. Seriously. Kept scrolling, clicking random pages. Found previews, snippets mentioning “Plymouth High 2023 football,” but no actual schedule with times and locations. Was getting seriously annoyed. Coffee was getting cold.
Hitting Walls and Finding Clues
Alright, thought maybe the school’s own site was the key. Went to the Plymouth High School homepage. Seemed obvious. Looked everywhere. Clicked “Athletics.” Scrolled past basketball, track, lacrosse… football, football… where is it?
- Found an “Athletic Schedules” link! Clicked it… redirected to some third-party schedule service.
- That service showed every single sport under the sun. Couldn’t filter just football.
- Saw dropdown menus, weird buttons. Tried selecting “Varsity Football Fall 2023.” Messs. Nothing happened half the time.
Gave up on that mess. Remembered someone mentioning the local paper’s sports section? Pulled up their site. Searched “Plymouth football schedule.” Found articles recapping past games. Some mentioned upcoming opponents… but no full schedule with all the game times. Getting warmer, but still frozen out.
Felt stuck. Was about to just drive to the school office when my kid said, “Dad, just check the official school district athletics Facebook page.” Didn’t even know that was a thing!
The Payoff (Finally!)
Hopped on Facebook. Searched for the Plymouth School District Athletic Department page. Scrolled through their posts. Saw tons of game recaps, athlete spotlights… and then… YES!
- Scrolled back a few weeks. Found a pinned post right at the top of the page: “2023 Plymouth Vikings Football – Complete Schedule!”
- Clicked it. Brought up a clean PDF file someone had uploaded.
- Opened that PDF. There it was. Every single game. Dates, times (both JV and Varsity!), locations (Home or Away), and even the opponent names. Everything.
Printed that sucker out immediately and stuck it on the fridge. Took forever, but mission accomplished. Learned the hard way that the easiest place might not be the obvious search engines or even the main school site – sometimes the district’s social media page is where they stick the actual updates people need. Maybe I’ll just bookmark that page for next year! Save myself the phone gymnastics and Google goose chase. Now I just need to remember which field is “Memorial Stadium” and which is just “Home Field”…
