Alright, so I’ve been wanting to make a pearl tennis necklace for a while now. I finally got around to it, and let me tell you, it was quite the adventure!

Pearl tennis necklace styles: Which one is the best choice for you!

First, I gathered all my materials. This was a bit of a scavenger hunt, to be honest. I already had a bunch of pearls that I’d gotten from an old necklace, but I needed some more. So I went to a few different craft stores and finally found some that matched pretty well.

Finding the Right Supplies

  • Pearls: This was the biggest challenge. Finding ones that were similar in size and color took some time.
  • Stringing Material: I opted for a strong beading wire. I wanted something durable that wouldn’t break easily.
  • Clasp: I chose a simple lobster clasp because they’re pretty reliable.
  • Tools: Just some basic jewelry pliers and wire cutters. Nothing fancy.

Once I had everything, I laid it all out on my table. It looked a little daunting, to be honest. I mean, there were so many pearls! But I took a deep breath and got started.

I started by measuring out the beading wire. I decided to make the necklace about 18 inches long, so I cut the wire a bit longer to give myself some extra room to work with. Then, I attached the clasp to one end of the wire. This was a bit fiddly, but I managed it after a few tries.

Next came the fun part: stringing the pearls! I carefully threaded each pearl onto the wire, one by one. It was a bit time-consuming, but it was also kind of relaxing. I put on some music and just got into the zone, watching my necklace slowly take shape.

After what felt like forever, I finally strung all the pearls. I double-checked to make sure they were all secure and then attached the other end of the clasp. And just like that, I had a finished pearl tennis necklace!

Honestly, I was pretty proud of myself. It wasn’t perfect, but it was handmade, and that made it special. I wore it out to dinner that night, and I got so many compliments. It felt good to know that I had made something beautiful with my own two hands. Definitely going to try another project like this soon!
