Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this fantasy football thing for a while now, and with the 2024 season coming up, I figured I’d share how I’ve been prepping my rankings.
First off, I started digging into what the so-called “experts” are saying. I noticed a couple of them are really high on certain players. This guy, Ben Wasley from The Fantasy First Down, seems to know his stuff. Made me rethink a few of my initial ideas.
Then I started looking at these huge lists, like the top 192 players that supposedly should get drafted in 12-team leagues. They break them down into these things called “tiers”. Honestly, it’s a lot to take in, but it does help you see where players stack up against each other. That part is really helpful!
My Process
- Dive into Expert Opinions: I spent a good chunk of time reading articles and listening to podcasts. Figured I should at least see what the popular opinions are. Some of it is helpful.
- Study the Big Lists: These top 200, top 150 lists are everywhere. It’s kind of overwhelming, but they give you a general sense of player value.
- Consider the Top Dogs: Some players are just obvious picks. I mean, Christian McCaffrey? He’s a beast! It seems like he’s always killing it on the field. I’d feel like a fool to not consider him.
- Compare Quarterbacks: I made a list of the quarterbacks everyone is talking about. Josh Allen, Jalen Hurts, Lamar Jackson – these guys are always in the conversation. I spent a lot of time thinking about my options here.
- Trust My Gut: After all the research, sometimes you just have to go with your instincts. I think that’s one of the most fun parts.
At the end of the day, I realized that it’s all about finding a balance between what the experts say and what my own gut tells me. I took some of the data, mixed it with my personal thoughts and feelings, and now I think I’ve got a pretty solid list to start with. I mean it when I say that doing all of this work really paid off.
It’s still early, and things will definitely change, but this is where I’m at with my 2024 fantasy football rankings. It’s a fun process, even if it’s a bit of a headache sometimes. It’s fun to get prepared for something like this!
