NFL PPR Mock Draft: Top Picks and Sleepers (2023 Fantasy Football)

Okay, so today I decided to jump into an NFL PPR mock draft. I’ve been playing fantasy football for years, but I always feel like I could be better prepared. So, let’s dive into what I did and how it went.

NFL PPR Mock Draft: Top Picks and Sleepers (2023 Fantasy Football)

Getting Started

First things first, I needed to find a platform to do the mock draft. I just used a famous website. It’s free and super easy to use. Once I was in, I set the draft settings to PPR (points per reception), which is my league’s format. We’ve got a 12-team league, so I made sure the mock draft reflected that.

The Draft Begins!

I got assigned the 5th pick, which I was pretty stoked about. Not too early, not too late. Here’s how the first few rounds went down for me:

  • Round 1, Pick 5: Went with a top-tier running back. It is so important to get a solid RB in the first round.
  • Round 2, Pick 20: Grabbed a stud wide * PPR, those receptions really add up, so I was happy with that choice.
  • Round 3, Pick 29: Decided to grab my starting tight end here.

Mid-Rounds Strategy

The middle rounds are where things get tricky. I tried to focus on best player available (BPA) while also keeping an eye on my team’s needs. I made sure to get a mix of solid starters and some high-upside backups. It’s all about balancing risk and reward. I snagged my quarterback in Round 6, which felt like a good value.

Late Rounds and Sleepers

In the later rounds, I was looking for sleepers. Guys who might outperform their draft position. I grabbed a couple of rookie running backs who could potentially break out, and a veteran wide receiver who I think is being undervalued. These picks are low risk, high reward – perfect for the end of the draft.

Wrapping Up

After about an hour, the mock draft was complete. I felt pretty good about the team I assembled. I had a good mix of established stars and potential breakout players. I also made sure to grab handcuffs for my top running backs – gotta protect those investments!

I did a few more mock drafts throughout the day, trying out different strategies. Drafting from different positions (early, middle, late) really helped me get a feel for how the draft might flow. You get a sense of who might be available when it’s your turn to pick.

Doing these mock drafts really helped me get a better understanding of player values and where I might need to adjust my strategy. It’s all about practice, and these mock drafts are a great way to prepare for the real thing. Now, I feel way more confident heading into my actual fantasy draft!
