NFL Mock Sim Guide: How to Draft Like a Pro GM!

Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of NFL mock drafts. I’ve always been a huge football fan, and I love the strategy involved in building a team. So, I figured, why not try my hand at a mock draft simulation? Let’s get started.

NFL Mock Sim Guide: How to Draft Like a Pro GM!

Getting Started

First things first, I needed to find a good mock draft simulator. I found a website to do so. It looked pretty straightforward – you pick your team, and the simulator runs through the draft, letting you make picks for your team while the AI handles the rest.

The Draft Begins!

I chose to simulate for the Chicago Bears, my favorite team. I was pretty excited, hoping to snag some good players to boost their roster. The first round started, and the tension was real! I was watching each pick, seeing which players were coming off the board, and trying to anticipate what the other “teams” (the AI) would do.

When it was my turn, the top-rated quarterback was still available! I had to take my franchise QB, and I did!

Making My Picks

  • Round 1: I went with a top-rated quarterback. The Bears desperately need a star, and this guy seemed like the perfect fit.
  • Round 2: There was a solid offensive lineman available, so I grabbed him. Gotta protect the new QB, right?
  • Later Rounds: I focused on addressing other needs, like wide receiver, cornerback, and defensive line. I tried to balance getting the best available players with filling specific holes in the roster.

The Final Result

After seven rounds, the draft was over! It felt a little quick, to be honest, but also pretty satisfying to see the “new” Bears roster take shape. I ended up with some players I was really excited about, and a few that I thought were good value picks in the later rounds.

Overall, this was a fun little experiment. It gave me a small taste of what it’s like to be in the war room on draft day, making those tough decisions and trying to build a winning team. I’ll probably do this again, maybe trying different teams or strategies. It’s a cool way to engage with the sport and think about team building in a more hands-on way.
