Okay, so I’ve been messing around with fantasy football for a while now, and I gotta say, getting those weekly rankings right is a real pain in the butt. I mean, there are so many “experts” out there, and they all have different opinions. It’s like, who do you even trust?

So, I started digging around to see if there was a way to figure out who’s actually good at this stuff. That’s when I stumbled upon this site, FantasyPros. Now, they don’t actually do the rankings themselves, they just pull in rankings from a ton of different sources, like from a bunch of other sites, you know? Kind of like a one-stop shop for all your ranking needs.
Here is what I did:
- Compared the Experts: I started comparing these experts over a few weeks. Seeing who was consistently closer to the actual player performance each week was eye-opening.
- Tracked the Results: I used the historical data provided to see who had the best track record. I focused on standard scoring, ’cause that’s what most of my leagues use.
- Looked at Consistency: I was less interested in who got it right once or twice and more about who was consistently good. This helped me find some really reliable sources.
I spent a few weeks looking at their accuracy scores, which basically tell you how close each expert’s rankings were to the actual player performance each week. I focused on standard scoring, ’cause that’s what most of my leagues use. They even have this thing where they look at who’s been the most accurate over the past five seasons. One guy, some Nathan Jahnke, he’s been in the top 10 like every year. Pretty impressive, right?
Now, I’m not saying FantasyPros is perfect, or that you should just blindly follow their consensus rankings. You should use this data to create your own rankings. But it’s a super helpful tool for figuring out who’s worth listening to and who’s just blowing smoke.
After using their stuff for a while, I started getting a much better feel for which players were gonna have good weeks and which ones were gonna be duds. I even finished 7th in accuracy in one of my leagues this season! Not too shabby, if I do say so myself.
So yeah, if you’re into fantasy football and you’re tired of guessing who to start each week, I’d definitely recommend checking out FantasyPros. It’s been a real game-changer for me, and I think it could be for you too.
