Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this NFL fantasy football thing, and I wanted to share my experience with setting up some rankings. It’s a bit of a process, but I think I’ve got a decent handle on it now.

First off, I started by looking at how players stack up against each other at their positions. You know, trying to figure out who’s the best quarterback, running back, wide receiver, and so on. This is what they call “position rank.” It’s a pretty basic way to start, just seeing who’s generally considered better than others at the same job on the field.
Then, I spent some time trying to decide which positions I should focus on first when drafting. I found some stuff online suggesting that it’s usually a good idea to go for wide receivers and running backs early on. After that, maybe grab a tight end, then look at defenses, then kickers, and finally a quarterback. I did go with this strategy for my draft.
I also stumbled upon these things called “power ratings” that some books use. They’re supposed to give you an idea of how strong a team is overall. I did try to learn how to use this power ratings to help me decide between players who seemed pretty similar.
After that, I started diving into individual player rankings. I went to the NFL’s website and saw their lists. They had guys like Josh Allen and Jalen Hurts at the top for quarterbacks. I used these rankings as a kind of guide, but I also wanted to do my own research.
My Own Research
- Digging Deeper: I checked out some other sites and resources to see what other folks were saying. I looked at a site called SportsLine, which runs a bunch of simulations of the NFL season. This gave me more numbers and projections to look at.
- Comparing Notes: After gathering all this info, I started comparing the different rankings and projections. I wanted to see where there was agreement and where there were differences. This helped me get a better sense of which players were consistently ranked high and which ones were more of a gamble.
- Making My Own List: Finally, I put together my own ranking list. I took everything I had learned and combined it with my own gut feelings about certain players and teams. This was the most time-consuming part, but also the most rewarding.
So, that’s basically what I’ve been up to with these NFL fantasy rankings. It’s been a lot of reading, comparing, and list-making. I feel like I have a much better understanding of how to approach this now, and hopefully, my team will do pretty well this season! I will keep checking these rankings throughout the season to make my final decision!
