NFL Fantasy Draft: Top Tips & Tricks (2023 Guide for Beginners)

Alright, so, let me tell you about my fantasy football draft this year. It was… an experience, to say the least.

Getting Started

>

First, I downloaded the app – you know, the usual one everyone uses. Then I joined my buddy’s league. He’s been running it for, like, five years now, and it’s always a good time, even if I totally suck at it.

The Prep (or Lack Thereof)

Okay, confession time: I didn’t do a ton of research. I know, I know, rookie mistake. I skimmed a few articles, looked at some rankings, but honestly, I mostly went with my gut. And by “gut,” I mean, “Oh, I like that guy’s name!”

Draft Day Chaos

The draft was a live, online thing. We all logged in, and the timer started ticking. The pressure! Seriously, it’s like being in a war room, but instead of missiles, you’re launching player names.

  • My first pick? I went with a running back. Felt safe.
  • Then, I grabbed a wide receiver. Gotta have those points, right?
  • After that… well, things got a little blurry. I panicked a few times and probably reached for some players way too early.

The Aftermath

Once it was all over, I sat back and looked at my team. Honestly, it’s a mixed bag. I’ve got some solid starters, a few question marks, and a couple of guys I literally picked because their names were fun to say.

I think have to make a good effort in the season.

So, yeah, that was my draft. Wish me luck – I’m gonna need it!
