Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into fantasy football lately, prepping for the 2024 season. It’s that time of year again! And you know the most crucial part? Rankings. Gotta get those rankings right. So, here’s how I went about building mine.

Started with the Basics
First, I grabbed a bunch of expert rankings from different sources. I didn’t want to just rely on one opinion, you know? Gotta get a feel for the general consensus. I literally just opened a bunch of browser tabs and started copying and pasting.
Spreadsheet Time!
Next, I dumped everything into a giant spreadsheet. It looked like a mess at first, with player names and numbers all over the place. But that’s okay, we’ll clean it up. My weapon of choice? Good old Google Sheets. Simple, but does the trick.
Averaging it Out
Once I had all the data in one place, I started calculating average rankings for each player. This is where the magic happens. By averaging out multiple expert opinions, you kinda smooth out the biases and get a more balanced view. It’s not rocket science, just plain old arithmetic!
Adding My Own Flavor
Now, the average ranking is a good starting point, but it’s not the whole story. I spent hours watching game footage, reading articles, and listening to podcasts. It’s important to add some personal touch. I wanted my rankings with my own takes.
- I factored in things like injury history. Some guys are just walking injury reports, and that’s gonna impact their fantasy output.
- I also considered changes in team situations. Did a quarterback get a new star receiver? Did a running back switch to a team with a terrible offensive line? That stuff matters!
- I paid attention to rookies. Some of these guys are gonna explode onto the scene, and you gotta try to predict who. It’s a gamble, but a fun one!
Tweaking and Refining
After all that, I went back to my spreadsheet and started tweaking. I moved players up and down based on my own research and gut feeling. This is where it gets subjective, and that’s part of the fun. No two fantasy players will have the same exact rankings, and that’s what makes it interesting.
The Final Product
Finally, I had my own set of rankings! It’s not perfect, and I’m sure I’ll be adjusting it as the season goes on and we get more information. But it’s a solid foundation, built on a mix of expert opinions and my own personal analysis. Now, I feel way more prepared. It’s almost draft time. Bring it on!
