Okay, so today I wanna talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – NBA fantasy basketball rankings. You know, I’m a huge basketball fan, and I’ve always been into fantasy sports, so I figured, why not combine the two? Plus, it’s a great way to stay engaged with the NBA season and have some fun with my buddies.

I started by doing some digging online. There are tons of websites and resources out there for fantasy basketball, which is awesome, but it can also be a little overwhelming. I checked out a bunch of different rankings from different sources, just to get a feel for who the top players are supposed to be this year.
After looking at a few expert rankings, I started to make my own list. I mean, who knows my fantasy strategy better than me, right? Of course, I took into account what the experts said, but I also thought about things like player positions, team situations, and potential for improvement.
- Victor Wembanyama
- Nikola Jokic
- Giannis Antetokounmpo
- Luka Doncic
- Jayson Tatum
My top 5 were kind of obvious:
It wasn’t just about picking the biggest names, though. I tried to think about which players would consistently put up good numbers in different categories, like points, rebounds, assists, steals, and blocks. You gotta have a balanced team if you want to win your fantasy league!
Building the rest of the list was trickier. There are so many talented players in the NBA, and it’s tough to predict who’s going to have a breakout year and who might underperform. I spent hours comparing stats, reading articles, and even watching some game highlights to try and get a better sense of each player’s potential.
Once I had my initial list, I started mock drafting. This is where you basically simulate a fantasy draft with yourself, just to see how your team might look based on your rankings. It’s a really helpful way to identify any weaknesses in your strategy and adjust your rankings accordingly.
I must have done like ten mock drafts, tweaking my list each time. It’s amazing how much your perspective can change after just a few practice runs. I realized I was undervaluing some players and overvaluing others, so I made some changes and felt a lot better about my rankings.
Of course, these rankings are just a starting point. Injuries happen, players get traded, and unexpected things always pop up during the season. So, it’s important to stay flexible and be ready to adjust your strategy on the fly. That is just my style.
Anyway, that’s basically what I’ve been up to with these NBA fantasy basketball rankings. It’s been a fun and challenging process, and I’m excited to see how my team does this year. I’ll keep you guys posted on my progress, and maybe I’ll even share some tips and tricks along the way. Wish me luck, folks!
