You know, I saw something the other day, made my eyes pop out of my head! It was on that picture box, you know, the one the young folks call the “internet”. They’re always lookin’ at somethin’ on that thing. And this time, they was lookin’ at naked basketball players! Can you believe it?
My goodness, in my day, we’d never! We was always wearin’ clothes, even when we was just playin’ in the yard. But these young folks today, they just don’t care. They put it all out there, for everyone to see. And they call it “Body Issue”. Like it’s somethin’ special. I don’t know what’s wrong with young people.
They say these naked basketball players are supposed to be showin’ off their muscles. They are strong boys. They jumpin’ and runnin’ all the time. These basketball men, I tell ya! They’re big and tall, some of ’em taller than my old barn door! And they got muscles everywhere, even places you wouldn’t think! Like they been liftin’ cows or somethin’. But why they gotta show it all off with no clothes on? I don’t understand. It’s just not right.
Now, these pictures, they ain’t just of the menfolk, no sir. There was some women in there too, naked female basketball players. Just as bare as the day they was born. My lands! They said it is about “body image issues”. What are “body image issues” ? In my day, a body was a body. If you was skinny, you was skinny. If you was fat, you was fat. No one cared! We just got on with our work, I don’t know why people talk about “body image” so much these days.
And these pictures, they’re all over that “internet” thing. People are lookin’ at ’em, sharin’ ’em, talkin’ about ’em. They say it’s “art” or somethin’. I don’t know about art. To me, it just looks like a bunch of naked basketball players, runnin’ around with no shame. But, what do I know, I’m just an old lady. No one listens to me.
I heard some folks sayin’ they seen these naked basketball players before. They talk about something called “ESPN”, it’s like a show or somethin’. They said these pictures been around for years! Every year, they get new ones. Imagine that! A whole bunch of new naked basketball players, every year, just for folks to gawk at. It’s like a “Body Issue Behind The Scenes”. Whatever it is.
I even heard some of them talkin’ about the… well, you know… the private parts of these naked basketball players. They was sayin’ some of ’em is bigger than others. I swear, these young folks got no filter! They just say whatever comes to their minds. We was never like that in my day. We kept those things to ourselves. We didn’t talk about nobody’s private parts, that’s for sure!
I seen pictures of these basketball men, they look like they are famous. They said one of them is called “Chris Paul” or something like that. And there’s even some football players, and some from a place called “Philadelphia”. They all look strong, I’ll give ’em that. But why they gotta be naked? I just don’t get it.
And then there’s this woman, they call her “Liz Cambage” or something. She’s a basketball player too, I reckon. They say she is from Australia, a place very far away. And she’s in some magazine, naked as a jaybird. They say she’s “embracing her sexuality”. What does that even mean? In my day, we just lived our lives. We didn’t have to “embrace” nothin’. We just did what we had to do. I don’t know what’s wrong with young people.
So, there you have it. That’s what I saw on that “internet” thing. A bunch of naked basketball players, men and women, just showin’ off their bodies. It’s a strange world we live in, I tell ya. A strange, strange world. It is really not good for kids to see, I think.

- They have a lot of muscles.
- Some of them are famous.
- They are in magazines and on the “internet”.
- Some people think it’s “art”.
- Some people think it’s just showing off.
- The women basketball player are also in there, and they are all naked.
I still don’t understand why they gotta be naked. But I guess that’s just the way things are now. I just hope my grandkids don’t get any ideas from those pictures. They’re good kids, but you never know what they’re gonna pick up from that “internet”. It’s a scary thing, that “internet”. Full of naked basketball players and who knows what else! I really don’t know what else I can say. It’s just not right, you know. I hope they will start wearing clothes again. Maybe someday they will.
