So yesterday my kid mentions wanting to go to the big Mountain View High football game this Friday night. Great! Love the idea. Except… I had zero clue how to actually get tickets. Figured it can’t be that hard, right? Famous last words.

The Schedule Hunt Begins
First things first, I needed the actual game schedule. Went straight to Mountain View High School’s main website. Clicked around a bit, got lost in some “Student Resources” section. Dead end. Then I remembered – high schools usually stick sports stuff under “Athletics”. Found the Athletics Department page after a few more clicks.
Bingo! Right there on the Athletics page was a link for “Football”. Clicked it, and finally saw the full season schedule. Scrolled down to find this Friday night’s game against Oakridge High. Okay, step one done. Now, for the tickets.
Searching for the Ticket Info
This is where it got weird. Looked all over that Football page. Saw game times, locations, but nothing about buying tickets. Scrolled up, scrolled down. Nothing. Even checked the site’s main menu – nada. Seriously, why do they hide this stuff?
Almost gave up when I spotted a tiny little button saying “Tickets” or “Buy Tickets” buried near the schedule table. Almost missed it. Clicked that button… and felt like I hit another roadblock. It redirected me, not to a normal web page, but to some generic ticketing service portal thing. Huh. Wasn’t expecting that.
Figuring Out the Ticketing Website
This portal looked… not fancy. Kinda basic. Had the Mountain View High Spartans logo up top at least. Saw a list of events. Scrolled through it until I spotted Friday’s game.
Clicked on the game listing. Important stuff popped up:
- Date & Time: Clear, 7:00 PM kickoff.
- Location: Mountain View High School Stadium – good, saved me the map search.
- Price: Adults $8, Students/Kids $5. Fair enough.
- How to Buy: Said “Purchase Online” right there.
Alright, ready to buy! Saw a big blue button: “Get Tickets”. Felt easy finally.
Buying the Tickets (Finally!)
Clicked “Get Tickets”. Saw a seating map. Looked like almost all seats were General Admission – just plain stadium bleachers. Few fancy seats marked “Reserved” way up top, but who needs those for high school ball? Picked General Admission.
Got prompted to choose quantity. Picked 3 tickets (two adults, one kid). Added to my cart. Then… almost hit a snag. Remembered I needed to make an account on this ticketing site. Ugh. Why?! Took a minute – just needed an email and to make a password. Nothing too painful.
Finally, payment. Card details went in. Got an “Order Confirmed” page! Woo! Tickets landed in my email inbox about 30 seconds later as PDF attachments. Made sure they showed the right game, date, number of tickets.
Quick Tips Based on My Fun Experience
If you’re trying to do the same thing for Mt. View:
- Dig Deep: Don’t expect a huge “BUY TICKETS HERE” banner. Look around the Athletics/Football page for a small link.
- Use the Athletics Page: Forget the main website navigation sometimes. The Athletics page is your best bet.
- Redirection Alert: Be ready to get sent to that third-party ticketing site. Looks different, but it works.
- Account Needed: Yeah, you’ll likely have to create a login. Annoying but quick.
- Go Digital: Print those PDFs or save them on your phone. Show the ticket scanner at the gate.
- Buy Early: Especially for big rival games or playoffs. Heard those can sell out quick.
Took me about 15 minutes total once I found the hidden path. Not terrible, but man, why isn’t it just one big easy button? Anyway, got the tickets! Kid’s pumped. Ready for Friday night under the lights. Go Spartans!
