Marla Sanders Park Lakes Tennis: Your Ultimate Guide to the Courts

Man, I was just itching to get back on the court after that crazy 15-week break! So, I hit up the newly done-up courts at Sanders Park. Let me tell you, it was worth the wait.

I went over to the Park Lakes Tennis & Paddle Club. It’s got a Facebook page, but I just showed up. I heard they’ve got five red clay courts that they open from May to November. That’s my kind of surface, you know?

I found out they also have three paddle tennis courts that are open all year, and they’re even lit up for night games! I didn’t try those this time, but it’s good to know. The clay courts were calling my name.

Apparently, they added paddle courts way back in ’69, and another one in ’96. But get this, in 2017, they tore down the old clubhouse and built a brand new one! It looked pretty sweet, I gotta say. Everything’s fresh and new.

I saw some folks there getting coaching, which is cool. I’m more of a “learn by doing” kind of guy, but I might check out some coaching in the future. They even had some booklets, so I took one. I guess they can help you learn some tips and tactics. It’s like having a coach right there on the court with you. Useful stuff, maybe.

All in all, it was a great day back on the courts. If you’re in the New Jersey area and looking for a place to play, you should definitely check out Park Lakes. Just grab your racket and go. You won’t regret it.
