Alright so first thing this morning, I woke up remembering that the WV girls basketball tournament is coming up next year, you know, the big 2025 one. Figured I needed to get tickets sorted before everyone else snatches ’em up. Started digging around online right after my coffee.
Where I Started Looking
Honestly, my first thought was to just type into Google something like “WV girls state basketball 2025 tickets.” Got a bunch of links. Clicked on the first few hoping it was the official site, but some were sketchy third-party sellers wanting crazy fees. Not doing that. Remembered that last time, the official source was through the West Virginia Secondary School Activities Commission, usually called the WVSSAC.
Hitting the WVSSAC Site
Hopped over to the WVSSAC site proper. Not gonna lie, their site’s kinda old-school looking. Scrolled down searching for anything about basketball or tickets. Found the “Sports” tab, clicked on that, looked for basketball. Found the page for the state tournament, but right now, mostly it was talking about the 2024 results. Frustrating! Didn’t see any big “BUY TICKETS NOW FOR 2025” button or anything obvious.

- Checked their social media links on the site (figured maybe they posted there first? Didn’t see anything new).
- Scratched my head and tried not to close the browser in frustration.
Took a break, made lunch. Came back determined. This time, I tried searching inside the WVSSAC site specifically for “2025” or “ticket schedule” using their search bar. Finally – bingo! Found a buried news post from a few weeks ago. It basically said, “Hey, folks, ticket sales for the 2025 Girls State Basketball Tournament will open officially on October 15th, 2024, on our online platform.” Also mentioned prices usually go up closer to the tournament weekend, so buying early is smarter. Good tip for everyone.
Figuring Out the Streaming
Okay, tickets are planned, but what if I can’t go in person? Needed the streaming info. Remembered last year, the tournament was streamed on one specific platform the WVSSAC partners with. So back to that news post I found. Scroll down… yep, right at the bottom: “All games will be streamed live via NFHS Network. Visit their site and search for West Virginia State Basketball.”
Went over to the NFHS Network site next. Searched for West Virginia high school basketball. Found their channel page. Looks like you gotta sign up for a monthly or yearly subscription to watch live streams or replays. Bookmarked that page. Maybe I’ll get a month pass just for the tournament week.
My Game Plan Now
Marked October 15th on my phone calendar with a loud reminder: “WV GIRLS TICKETS ON SALE!”. Set an alarm too, just in case. For streaming, I know where to go now – NFHS Network. I’ll double-check closer to March 2025 to see if anything changed, but this feels like the solid info. Phew! Mission accomplished, even though it felt like a bit of a scavenger hunt.
