Okay, so, I’ve been messing around with this ESPN fantasy basketball thing, and I gotta say, it’s pretty addictive. I started by checking out their fantasy basketball rankings, just to get a feel for who’s who in the league, you know?

I spent a good chunk of time looking through the top 150 players. They’ve got these rankings for both roto and category leagues, which is cool. I’m more into the head-to-head points format myself. It’s kind of like fantasy football, where you give points to different stats. The team with the most points each week wins. Simple enough, right?

    How I started

  • First thing I did was create a league. I mean, what’s the point of playing if you’re not competing, right?
  • Then I started drafting my team. This is where the rankings really came in handy. I didn’t just pick the highest-ranked players, though. I tried to create a balanced team, you know, not too heavy on any one position.
  • I also had to learn about these injury tags they use. You got “GTD,” which means “Game-Time Decision,” so the player might or might not play. Then there’s “D2D” for “Day-to-Day,” meaning they probably won’t play soon. And of course, “Out” means they’re definitely not playing, maybe for a week or so. Gotta keep an eye on those.

So, I’ve been managing my team, making trades, picking up free agents, all that jazz. It’s a lot of work, but it’s fun. I check the app like every day to see how my players are doing and to look for ways to improve my team. It is really time-consuming.

Honestly, I didn’t think I’d get this into it, but here I am, checking player stats and game schedules like it’s my job. It is really make me feel fulfilled. If you’re into basketball and you’re looking for something to do, you should definitely give it a try. It’s free, so you’ve got nothing to lose, except maybe a lot of your time, but trust me, it’s worth it.

Anyway, that’s my experience with ESPN fantasy basketball so far. It’s been a wild ride, and I’m excited to see how the rest of the season plays out. Wish me luck!
