Okay, so yesterday, I went to this place called Park Avenue Tennis Center, and let me tell you, it was quite the experience. I’d been itching to get back on the court after a long break, and this place seemed like a good spot to do it.
First off, I tried to find some info about them online. They’re all over Instagram, posting stuff and whatnot. Turns out, they’re located in Oakhurst, NJ. I saw that they have like 372 followers. Not bad, right? And they post a lot – 223 posts! I figured they must be pretty active.
Then I started looking into what they offer. They have these things called “Zones,” which are basically group drills for adults. It’s like, you move around different courts and play with different people during the session. Sounds intense, and they say it’s fast-paced. I was a bit nervous, but I thought, why not give it a shot?
The Courts
Now, about the courts themselves. I learned that they have clay courts, which I heard are easier on your body, especially if you’re a bit older, like me. I also read that hard courts are better for bounce and easier to take care of, and you can play any style on them.
I did see something about a place called “Tennis World Melbourne Park” which sounds huge, with both indoor and outdoor courts. But this Park Avenue place, it’s all about that clay. I mean, when you hear “clay,” you think “tennis,” right?
My Experience
So, I went there, and I joined one of these Zone sessions. It was pretty intense! I was running around, switching courts, playing with different people. I was sweating buckets, but it felt good to be back in the game. My old bones were definitely feeling it, though!
- Arrived at the center, a little nervous but excited.
- Checked in and got my stuff ready.
- Joined the Zone session.
- Ran around like crazy.
- Played with some nice folks.
- Sweated a lot.
- Felt exhausted but happy.
Overall, it was a fun day. I think I’ll go back there again. Maybe not every day, but it’s a good way to get some exercise and meet some new people. If you’re in the area and you like tennis, you should check it out. Just be prepared to work up a sweat!
