Where I Started

Saw people already buzzing about the 2024-2025 schedule online. Scrolled through the official team website on my laptop. Big mistake. Pages loaded slow like molasses, buried three clicks deep. Forget doing that on my tiny phone screen later.

The Hunt For Something Simpler

Scratched my head thinking, “There’s gotta be an easier way than bookmarking a webpage I’ll forget to check.” Remembered seeing “Calendar” or “Subscribe” buttons buried on other sports sites ages ago. Went digging again on the Notre Dame athletics site – clicked around like a madman.

Found it! Under the basketball schedule, teeny tiny text: “Subscribe to Calendar.” Hidden treasure, practically invisible. They make it harder than stealing second base.

Actually Making It Work

Alright, button found. Here’s exactly what I pressed next:

  • Tapped that “Subscribe to Calendar” link on my desktop browser first. Popped open a weird calendar file download. Didn’t panic.
  • Dragged that downloaded .ics file straight into my Google Calendar tab (open in another window). Boom! Google Calendar instantly gobbled it up.
  • Double-checked Google Calendar – yep, all the ND games showed up under “Other Calendars,” labeled perfectly with opponents and times. Half the battle won.

Now for the phone part:

  • Grabbed my iPhone, cracked open the Calendar app.
  • Tapped “Calendars” at the bottom to see my lists.
  • Scrolled way down under “Accounts” until I saw my Google account.
  • Looked for the new calendar called something like “2024-2025 Notre Dame Basketball” – flipped the switch next to it ON.

Total time suck? Maybe 4 minutes. Most of that was finding the dang subscribe button. Done.

Why Bother? Pure Laziness Wins

Forget checking websites or apps. Now games just appear automatically on the same calendar I check 20 times a day for work crap and dentist appointments. Even sends a notification when games are about to tip off. Game changer when you’re trying to remember if that late January game is 7PM or 9PM without turning into an ice cube searching your glovebox for a printed schedule.
