Alright, so today I decided to play around with an NFL mock draft simulator, just for fun. I’ve always been a big fan of the draft process, trying to figure out who my team should pick.
First, I needed to find a simulator. I just googled “NFL mock draft simulator” and a bunch of options popped up. I picked one that looked pretty straightforward – no need to sign up or anything, which is always a plus in my book.
Once I got into the simulator, I had to pick the team I wanted to control. Naturally, I went with my team. Then, you can usually tweak some settings. Like, do you want to allow trades, or make it a “straight pick” kind of draft?
Getting Down to Business
So, the draft started, and it was pretty cool! You see the picks happening in real-time, and when it’s your turn, you get a list of the available players. They usually have some basic info on each player, like their position, college, and maybe some key stats or a scouting report blurb.
The first few picks were nail-biters. I was hoping this one wide receiver would fall to me, but nope, he went two picks before mine. Gotta have a backup plan, right?
I ended up going with a defensive end, which was a big need for my team. It felt pretty good, like I was actually making a difference, even though it’s just a simulation.
- Round 1: Defensive End – This guy was a beast in college, hopefully he can bring that energy to the pros.
- Round 2: Cornerback – Needed some help in the secondary, and this guy seemed like good value.
- Round 3: offensive – tried add someone.
I kept going through the rounds, making picks, and even considering some trade offers that popped up. It’s surprisingly addictive, trying to build the best possible team.
After the draft was over, some simulators give you a “draft grade” or some kind of summary. It’s a fun way to see how you did, even if it’s all just make-believe.
Honestly, it’s a great way to kill some time and get hyped for the actual NFL draft. If you’re a football fan, I’d definitely recommend giving one of these simulators a try!
