Okay, so I’ve been messing around with this fantasy football rankings thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a bit of a journey. Started off pretty clueless, not gonna lie. Just a dude who likes football and thought, “Why not give this a shot?”

First thing I did was try to find some rankings online. Found a bunch of sites, all claiming to have the best, most accurate rankings. Ended up looking at a few, like the ones from FantasyPros and FanDuel. They aggregate rankings from a ton of “experts” – makes you feel like you’re getting some insider info, you know?
So, I did the following:
- Spent hours, seriously, hours, just scrolling through these lists.
- Started comparing them, trying to figure out which “experts” seemed to know their stuff.
- Noticed some big differences between the rankings, which was kinda confusing at first.
Then, I stumbled upon this PFF site – they had some interesting stuff about strategy. Got me thinking, maybe I should come up with my own rankings? Yeah, I know, ambitious for a newbie, but hey, gotta aim high, right?
Building My Own Rankings
I decided to focus on the top 300 players. Seemed like a good starting point. Started by looking at last season’s stats, trying to see who performed well and who didn’t. Then, factored in things like new team situations, rookies coming in, and all that jazz.
It was a lot of guesswork, to be honest. I mean, who really knows how a player will do in a new season? But I kept at it, tweaking and adjusting my list. Used a spreadsheet, because why not? Felt like a real pro, even though I was probably making tons of mistakes.
The Simulation
Heard about this site, SportsLine, that runs simulations of the whole season. Thought it was pretty cool, so I checked it out. Ran it like 10 times, just to see what would happen. It gave me some new ideas and I added those to my rankings list.
Result
Finally, after days of tinkering, I had my own set of rankings. Were they perfect? Definitely not. But it was a fun process, and I learned a lot along the way. Now, I’ve got my own list to use for my fantasy league, and I’m actually feeling pretty confident about it. We’ll see how it goes, but at least I can say I put in the work. Who knows, maybe I’ll even win the whole thing. Wouldn’t that be something?
Anyway, that’s my little adventure in the world of fantasy football rankings. Hope it was at least somewhat entertaining. If you’re thinking about doing this yourself, I’d say go for it. Just be prepared to spend some time, and don’t be afraid to make your own calls. After all, it’s just a game, right?
