Okay, so I’ve been diving deep into Fantasy Football prep, because, let’s be real, who isn’t already thinking about the 2024 season? Today, I focused on PPR (Points Per Reception) rankings, and man, it’s a whole different ballgame compared to standard scoring.

First, I grabbed my trusty notebook and pen – yeah, I’m old school like that sometimes. I like to see things physically written down. Then, I opened up my laptop and started browsing a few of my go-to fantasy football sites. I’m not going to name any specifics cause i dont think its necessary, you know which ones.
My Initial Thoughts & Players
- Receivers, Receivers, Receivers: In PPR, those wide receivers who are target hogs? Absolute gold. I’m talking about the guys who might not score a ton of touchdowns but consistently rack up 8, 9, 10 catches a game.
- Running Backs Who Catch: Forget those pure ground-and-pound guys. I want running backs who are heavily involved in the passing game. Think of those dual-threat guys.
- Tight Ends Matter (Some of Them): There are a few tight ends out there who are basically wide receivers in a tight end’s body. Those guys get a nice bump in PPR.
I spent a good couple of hours just looking at projections, last year’s stats, and reading some expert analysis. I started making a list of players I liked, then compared it to some of the rankings I was seeing online. It’s always interesting to see where my gut feelings align with the “experts” and where they differ.
I jotted down notes about potential sleepers – guys who might be ranked lower but have the potential to be PPR monsters. This is where you can really find some value later in drafts.
It’s a messy process, honestly. My notebook pages are filled with crossed-out names, arrows, and question marks. But it’s my mess, and it helps me get a feel for the player pool.
Finally, I started to put together a very rough, preliminary ranking of my own. It’s nowhere near finished, and it’ll definitely change a bunch of times before my first draft, but it’s a starting point. It’s all about getting a feel for the players and how they fit into a PPR format.
I will keep working on this staff, hope we can all get good result in Fantasy Football 2024!
