Okay, so fantasy football draft season is coming up, and like everyone else, I wanted to get a jump on things. I’ve been digging in, doing some research, and wanted to share my process and what I’ve found so far. It’s still early, but hey, gotta start somewhere, right?

First step, look at last year
First things first, I pulled up last year’s stats. Gotta see who was crushing it and who was, well, not so much. I mainly focused on total points, but also looked at consistency. You know, who was putting up good numbers week after week, not just those one-hit wonders.
- Looked at total points.
- Checked week by week.
Then, what changes this year?
Next, I started looking into offseason moves. You know, trades, free agency, coaching changes – all that jazz. Did a star receiver get a new quarterback? Did a team totally revamp their offensive line? Those things can make a HUGE difference.
Mock drafts…so many mock drafts
After that, I dove into some mock drafts. I didn’t participate much yet, because I am still on the first stage. I mainly checked other people’s mock drafts, and see where players are generally going. It gives you a good feel for the overall landscape and where the value might be.
Who I am eye on right now
- Running Backs: Gotta find those workhorse backs! Even with the league becoming more pass-happy, a reliable RB is gold. I’m keeping an eye on a few guys who might be in line for bigger roles this year.
- Wide Receivers: So many good receivers out there. I tryed to search for guys on teams with good quarterbacks and offenses that like to throw the ball.
- Quarterbacks: I usually wait on quarterbacks. There are so many good ones, you can usually find value later in the draft. That being said, I did make a list of a few I like.
- Tight Ends:If you can snag one of the top guys, great. If not, you can probably find someone decent later on.
Still lots of work to do
This is just the beginning, of course. I’ll keep digging, watching for news, and doing more mock drafts. It’s a process, but that’s part of the fun, right? I will share more when I got new ideas.
