Fantasy Basketball Keeper Rankings: How to Decide Who Stays on Your Team and Win Next Season!

Okay, so today I wanna talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – fantasy basketball keeper rankings. It’s that time of year when I start thinking about next season, even though the current one isn’t over yet. I just can’t help myself!

Fantasy Basketball Keeper Rankings: How to Decide Who Stays on Your Team and Win Next Season!

First thing I did was grab my league’s settings. You know, how many keepers we get, what the scoring system is, all that jazz. My main league lets us keep three players, and it’s a pretty standard 9-category head-to-head format. Nothing too crazy. Once I had those settings in my head I started to analyze.

Then, I fired up my trusty spreadsheet. Yeah, I’m one of those guys. I dumped in all the player stats from this past season. Points, rebounds, assists, steals, blocks, you name it. I even included some advanced stats like usage rate and true shooting percentage, ’cause why not?

After that, I started playing around with different formulas. This is where it gets a little nerdy. I weighed certain categories more than others, based on what I think will be important next year. For example, I think three-pointers made might be a bit less valuable, so I dialed that down a notch.

  • Sorted the players by their overall ranking based on my custom formula.
  • Highlighted guys who I thought were either overvalued or undervalued.
  • Made a bunch of notes next to each player, like “injury risk” or “breakout potential.”

This whole process took me a few evenings, to be honest. I kept tweaking things, running different scenarios. I even factored in things like player age and potential trades or free agency moves that might happen in the offseason. It’s like trying to predict the future, but with basketball stats.

The last step was making a list of possible keepers, I compared my rankings to some of the popular ones out there, just to see if I was way off base. Turns out, I wasn’t too far off, which was a relief!

So yeah, that’s basically what I’ve been up to. It’s a lot of work, but it’s also a lot of fun. And hopefully, it’ll give me a little edge when it comes time to make those tough keeper decisions. Who knows, maybe this is the year I finally win the whole damn thing!
