Alright, so today I wanna talk about something I’ve been messing around with lately – comparing players in fantasy basketball. It’s a total rabbit hole, but a fun one. I needed to find tools, so I began to search. And it seemed that there are various tools available.

First, I picked out a couple of players I wanted to compare. I mean, that’s the whole point, right? You gotta have someone in mind. Let’s say I was debating between two small forwards, and I couldn’t decide who to start for the week.
Then, I started hunting for tools online. There are a bunch of websites that offer player comparison tools. Some are free, some you gotta pay for. I found a free tool, copied my roster on that website, and got a rating and ranking. This tool compared my team with other teams.
After that, I tried the paid tool. I mean, I was already there, so why not? I selected two players, and this tool showed me a bunch of stats – points, rebounds, assists, all that good stuff. It even gave projections for future games, which is pretty wild if you think about it.
Here’s where it gets interesting. Some of these tools also take into account things like your league’s scoring system. So, like, if your league values three-pointers more than others, it’ll factor that in. I found a site that lets you see consensus fantasy basketball rankings. They update their rankings every day, which is super helpful.
- Tried a few different tools.
- Compared some of my players.
- Read some articles on how to use these tools effectively.
I also looked into overall rankings. You know, those lists where they rank all the players from best to worst. There’s this site that compiles their top 250 players based on category scoring. Category scoring means it looks at stats across nine categories, like points, rebounds, and so on.
In the end, I spent a good chunk of time just playing around with these tools. And you know what? It actually helped! I ended up making a trade based on some of the insights I got. Whether it works out or not, who knows, but at least I felt like I was making an informed decision.
So yeah, that’s my little adventure into the world of fantasy basketball player comparisons. It’s definitely something I’ll keep messing around with. It is fun to use them. If you’re into fantasy sports, I’d say give it a shot. You might be surprised at what you find. But I did learn something after all.
