Alright, so I’ve been messing around with this fantasy football thing, and let me tell you, it’s been a wild ride. I wanted to build my own little ranking system, just for fun, you know? See if I could predict who’s gonna be a star and who’s gonna be a dud.
First, I gathered a ton of data. I mean, tons. I went to all sorts of websites, looked at past seasons, player stats, injuries, everything I could get my hands on. It was like drinking from a firehose, honestly. I copied and pasted stuff into spreadsheets until my eyes started to cross.
Then, I had to figure out how to make sense of all this mess. I started playing around with different formulas, trying to weight things. Like, is a rushing touchdown worth more than a receiving touchdown? How much should I penalize a player for fumbling? It was a lot of trial and error, a lot of tweaking numbers and seeing what happened.
Next, I created an interface.I used some basic HTML and stuff. Nothing fancy, just enough so that the list isn’t messy,just a simple table to display the results of my efforts.
- Imported all my data into the interface.
- Created a button.
- Wrote some script to make the button work.
- Styled the table a bit.
After the interface was done.I started running the numbers. I put in my formulas, hit “calculate,” and… well, the first few results were pretty wacky. Some players I’d never even heard of were ranked super high, and some of the big names were way down at the bottom. Clearly, I had some bugs to work out.
So, I went back to the drawing board, adjusted my formulas, and ran it again. And again. And again. Each time, I got a little closer. The rankings started to look a bit more reasonable, a bit more in line with what I expected.
Finally, after a lot of head-scratching and a few late nights, I had something I was মোটামুটি happy with. It’s not perfect, of course. There’s always room for improvement. But it’s my system, built from the ground up, and it’s kind of cool to see it actually working.
The best part? I can keep updating it throughout the season, adding new data, refining my formulas, and seeing how my predictions stack up against reality. It’s like a never-ending puzzle, and I’m hooked!
