Dominate 2024: NFL Fantasy Football Mock Drafts & Expert Advice.

Alright, guys, so today I decided to jump into some NFL fantasy football mock drafts. I’ve been meaning to get some practice in before the real drafts start, and honestly, it’s just a fun way to kill some time and see how different strategies play out.

First things first, I gotta find a platform to do the mock drafts. I have used a few apps before. So I fired it up and logged in.

Once the app was opened, I joined a 12-team, standard scoring mock draft. I like to get a feel for different draft positions, so I didn’t really care where I picked. Ended up with the 7th pick, which is kinda in the middle – not the best, not the worst.

The Mock Draft Begins!

The first few rounds went pretty much as expected. The big-name running backs and wide receivers flew off the board. I grabbed a solid receiver at 7, and decided to pick a decent running back at the second round. This year I am gonna try to make the “hero-RB” thing work!

  • Round 1: Grab a wide receiver.
  • Round 2: Pick a decent RB, and try the hero-RB method.
  • Rounds 3-6: This is where things got interesting. I started thinking about my overall team composition. I wanted to have a good balance. Snagged a couple more receivers, trying to find some good value guys.

Around the middle rounds, I noticed a few quarterbacks I liked still available, so I picked my favorite one. Don’t want to wait too long and get stuck with someone I’m not high on.

By the later rounds, it’s all about finding potential sleepers and filling out your roster. I made sure to get a kicker and a defense, of course. Can’t forget those!

The Result

After about 30 minutes, the mock draft was done. I didn’t love my team, to be honest, but it wasn’t terrible either. It gave me a good idea of where players are being drafted and what kind of value I can expect at different positions.

I did a couple more mock drafts after that, trying out different strategies. It’s amazing how much your team can change depending on your draft position and the choices you make. I think the mocks did help me to prepare for the real one!

Overall, it was a fun and useful experience. Mock drafts are definitely a good way to prepare for your fantasy football season. Even if you don’t take them super seriously, they can help you get a feel for the player pool and develop your own draft strategy. It’s so fun!
