Okay, here’s my experience doing a mock draft for fantasy football 2024, told in a casual, blog-style format:

Do a 2024 Fantasy Football Mock Draft: Practice Makes Perfect!

Alright, so I decided to get a jump on the 2024 fantasy football season by doing a mock draft. I figured, why not? It’s never too early to start thinking about crushing your league, right?

Getting Started

First thing I did was find a mock draft lobby. There are a few places that have them. I hopped into one that was just starting up – a 12-team, PPR (points per reception) league, which is pretty standard.

The Draft Begins!

I got assigned the 6th pick, which I was okay with. Not amazing, but not terrible either. I always kind of like being in the middle of the first round.

  • Round 1:Boom. Top 5 pick. I grabed a so hot running back. There were some good wide receivers available, but hey I need to get a stud RB.
  • Round 2: Okay, so with my second pick, I went with the best player available. It was tempting to reach for a position of need, but I couldn’t pass up the value.
  • Rounds 3-6: This is where things got interesting. I focused on building out my starting lineup, making sure I had a solid QB, another RB, and a couple of WRs. I also snagged a decent tight end.

Mid-Draft Strategy

The middle rounds are where you can really make or break your team. I tried to find some guys who I thought were undervalued, players who might have breakout seasons.

Late Rounds and Sleepers

I grabbed my kicker and defense. Don’t sleep on special teams! I also took some chances on some rookies and guys coming back from injuries. You never know who might surprise you.

Post-Draft Thoughts

After the draft was over, I took a good look at my team. Overall, I felt pretty good. I had a good balance of proven veterans and high-upside younger guys. Of course, it’s just a mock draft, so who knows what will actually happen during the season. But it was a fun exercise, and it got me even more hyped for fantasy football!

One big thing I realized: Doing one of these mock drafts really helps you get a feel for where players are being drafted. It helps you spot potential values and guys you might want to avoid. It also reminds that I need to research more.

So, yeah, that was my mock draft experience. If you’re a fantasy football nut like me, I definitely recommend giving it a try. It’s a fun way to get ready for the season, and you might just learn something!
