Okay, here’s my blog post about diving into the world of 2024 NFL Fantasy Football PPR Rankings:

Alright, folks, so I decided to get a jump on my fantasy football prep this year. You know, avoid that last-minute scramble where I’m panic-picking players I barely recognize. My league is PPR (points per reception), so I knew I needed to really focus on those rankings.
First, I opened the browser, and hit up a bunch of the usual suspect sites, all of the big-name fantasy football pages. I figured I’d start by just soaking in a bunch of different opinions, you know, see where the “experts” were at.
Scouring for Rankings
I spent a good hour or two just going through lists. I jotted down some names that kept popping up in the top tiers. You know, the usual suspects – running back are always first, and wide receivers that catch a ton of passes.
Next, I started digging a little deeper. I know just reading rankings isn’t enough. I wanted to know why certain guys were ranked where they were. So, I started looking at things like:
- Projected targets: More targets usually mean more catches, and more catches mean more points in PPR!
- Offensive scheme changes: Did a team get a new offensive coordinator? That could totally shake things up.
- Injury history: Gotta be careful with guys who are always getting banged up.
- New team:If a player is on a new team, you need to pay more attention.
I even looked at some player profiles, trying to get a feel for their individual situations. I mean, is a wide receiver on a team with a terrible quarterback really going to get that many receptions? Probably not.
Building My Own Spreadsheet
After all that research, I started to feel like I had a decent handle on things. But I’m a visual guy, so I opened up a spreadsheet. I created my own, personalized rankings, based on everything I’d learned. I’m not saying my rankings are perfect, but they’re mine, and I feel good about them.
The biggest thing I learned? Don’t just blindly follow some random list. Do your own homework! It takes some time, sure, but it’s way better than ending up with a team full of duds because you didn’t put in the effort.
Now, I’m ready to dominate my draft! Or, at least, that’s the plan. We’ll see how it goes. Wish me luck!
