The “Do These Things Actually Work?” Test Drive
Couldn’t wait for practice. Hit the backyard after school. Made Jake run routes around the crab apple tree wearing ALL of it.
Hits & Misses:
- Cleats felt good on grass. No blisters at first sprint. Win.
- Helmet stayed put even when shaking his head side-to-side like he was at a metal concert.
- Shoulder pads pinched a bit under his left armpit during throwing motions. Adjusted the straps another notch looser. Fixed.

Jake’s buzzing. Gear feels solid, not cheap plasticky junk. Mission accomplished. Don’t overcomplicate it. Focus on the basics that let them play hard and stay safe. That’s it.
