First thing Friday morning, I dug through my junk drawer – found an old, crusty notebook and a pen that only kinda worked. Good enough. Decided I’d hit as many local games as possible over the weekend. Figured I’d jot down the scores right there in the stands, maybe chat up some parents for tidbits.
My Friday night plan went sideways almost immediately. Showed up to that game on Elm Street, packed solid! Couldn’t find parking anywhere, circled the block like a moron for 20 minutes. Finally squeezed into a spot two blocks away. By the time I got in, second quarter already started! Messed up my whole rhythm.
Dealing With the Chaos
Saturday was worse. Three games back-to-back-to-back across town. My notebook pages got soaked when that sudden downpour hit during the Jefferson match.
