So I caught wind that Glencliff High was playing this big game Friday night, but I was stuck outta town for work. Thought “well darn, maybe there’s some live stream online?” Figured I’d document my hunt step by step since lotsa parents face this.

My First Stupid Guess
Went straight to that school’s main site first. Clicked “Athletics” then “Football” expecting a big “WATCH LIVE” button. Found nothing but game schedules from 2019. Dead end.
Social Media Rabbit Hole
Hopped over to their Twitter. Scrolled through weeks of tweets – mostly cafeteria menus and fundraiser car washes. Saw one football score update but no streams. Tried their Facebook too. Coupla grainy phone videos of band performances… zero actual games.
Then I got smart:
- Checked with Bobby (my neighbor whose kid plays JV). He said sometimes local news channel airs big rivalry games
- Called the athletic office – got voicemail saying “for stream info visit [some obscure portal]”. Of course that link led nowhere
Radio? Seriously?
Remembered high school games used to be on AM radio back in the day. Googled “Glencliff football radio broadcast”. Found some station’s website listing every game… EXCEPT Glencliff’s. Called the station – guy said “we only cover teams with winning records” then hung up. Rude!
That ONE Kid’s Mom Saved Me
Posted in our neighborhood group asking if anyone knew how to watch. Mrs. Jenkins (starting QB’s mom) replied: “Just go to that free app everyone uses”. She meant that platform with the thumb icon. Searched #GlencliffFootball and boom!
Turns out:
- Parents take turns live streaming using phones
- They don’t tell the school cause… rules
- Quality’s terrible but you can see little Johnny get tackled
So yeah, took me four hours to learn: forget official channels. Just stalk the moms on socials. Ain’t pretty but hey – saw my nephew fumble in HD!
