Starting the Research on PA Basketball
Got up early today planning to write about Pennsylvania’s high school basketball scene. Brewed some coffee, opened my laptop, and started digging into tournament results from last season. Scrolled through dozens of school district websites – man, some of these small towns have terrible web designs! Had my notebook out, scribbling down team names like Chester Clippers and Lower Merion Aces.

Tracking Top Performers
Checked stats from regional championships first. Wrote down three main things for each team:
- Point leaders – kept seeing this kid Lamar Jackson (not the NFL guy!) from Pittsburgh
- Defensive stats – Archbishop Wood’s blocks were crazy
- Fourth-quarter comebacks – Lower Merion won four games this way
My cat jumped on the table halfway through and spilled my coffee. Had to restart the stat sheets after wiping everything down.
Spotting Must-See Matchups
Started connecting the dots between tournament brackets. Realized the semifinals could have insane drama if:
- Chester Clippers face Imhotep Charter – their last matchup had technical fouls
- Lincoln Park meets Reading – those coaches HATE each other
- Archbishop Wood plays McDowell – centers with totally opposite styles
Texted my buddy who coaches in Philly to check my predictions. He called me immediately yelling “You got Lincoln Park all wrong!” Had to recheck their shooting percentages.
Finishing Up & Double-Checking
Spent the afternoon fact-checking everything. Turns out I confused two players named Mike Smith from different schools – that would’ve been embarrassing! Printed out my matchup chart and taped it to the wall to visualize the bracket paths. Finally uploaded everything to my blogging platform while eating cold pizza at midnight.
Bottom line? The quarterfinals will be fire. Mark my words – Imhotep Charter might pull the biggest upset we’ve seen in years.
