Alright, so I decided to dive into figuring out who the top NFL fantasy players for 2024 might be. It’s still early, but hey, gotta get a head start, right?
My Research Process
First, I started by just brainstorming. I jotted down the names that immediately came to mind – you know, the usual suspects who always seem to dominate.
- Patrick Mahomes
- Josh Allen
- Christian McCaffrey
Then, I hit up some of my go-to fantasy football websites. and I also checked out a few podcasts where “experts” were already making their early predictions. I wanted to see if my initial thoughts lined up with what others were saying.
I started making a spreadsheet – yeah, I’m a bit of a nerd like that – and listed out potential players, along with some basic stats from last season. Things like total fantasy points, points per game, and maybe even some notes about their team situation (like, did they get a new offensive coordinator or lose a key player?).
After that, I started thinking about *’s always a gamble with the new guys, but there are usually a couple who explode onto the scene.I scrolled through the major sports websites and read some articles.
Finally, I took all of this information and just…thought about it. I tried to imagine how the upcoming season might play out for each player. Are they likely to repeat their success? Are there any red flags that suggest they might decline? Is there a young player on their team who might steal some of their touches?
It’s definitely not an exact science, especially this early in the year. There will be injuries, surprise breakouts, and all sorts of unpredictable stuff. But, going through this process helped me form a preliminary list of guys I’ll be targeting in my drafts. and now I have a preliminary top players list.
