Okay, so today I decided to dive into the world of the NFL, but not by watching games. Instead, I wanted to play GM for a day and try out an NFL Draft simulator. I’ve always wondered what it would be like to make those big draft-day decisions, you know?

First things first, I needed to find a simulator. I just did a quick search and, bam, there were tons of options. I picked one that looked pretty straightforward and didn’t require me to sign up for anything. Less hassle, more drafting!
I jumped right in. The simulator I chose had a simple interface. My team was pre-selected(Dolphins!)- I think it picked a random team, which was cool. Then, it showed me the draft order and the players available.
My first pick was coming up, and I gotta admit, I felt a little pressure. The clock was ticking (virtually, of course)! I started looking at the team needs. The simulator had a handy little section showing what positions my team needed most. It’s obvious that the team could be stronger for a guard.
- Check the ‘Team Needs’ section.
- Find players who fit the needs.
- Check player stats.
I started scrolling through the available players, looking at their stats and ratings. Some of these simulators give you little scouting reports, which is super helpful. I felt like a real scout, comparing players, weighing pros and cons.
I ended up picking an guard, whose name I can’t even pronounce, but the simulator said he was a beast. Boom! First pick down.
The rounds go on
Then the simulator went through the next few picks, showing who other “teams” selected. It was kind of cool to see it play out, like watching a mini-draft unfold.
I kept going, making picks based on team needs and player ratings. I even tried to make a few “trades” (the simulator had a trade option), but those computer GMs are tough negotiators! I couldn’t pull any off.
After a full 7 rounds, It’s done! My draft class was complete. The simulator gave me a draft grade (a solid B+, not bad!). It felt pretty satisfying to go through the whole process, even if it was just a simulation.
It’s a fun little way to kill some time and pretend you’re running an NFL team. If you’re a football fan, I’d definitely recommend giving one of these simulators a try. You might even learn something about the draft process along the way!
