Alright, so I decided to dive deep into the world of fantasy football this year. I mean, really deep. I wanted to have the best draft possible, so I figured I needed to know the top players at each position. Here’s how I went about it, and what I found.

Getting Started: Gathering Intel
First, I started by hitting up all the usual websites. You know, the big sports ones, the fantasy football dedicated sites… I even checked out some forums and blogs to get different opinions. My goal was to gather as much raw data and expert analysis as I could.
Organizing My Notes
After that, I spent a good chunk of time just reading and watching videos. I jotted down notes on who everyone was saying were the “must-have” players. It got messy fast! I had scribbles everywhere, different rankings, conflicting opinions… It was a bit of an information overload, to be honest.
Creating My Own Rankings
To make sense of it all, I created a simple spreadsheet. I listed out the main positions: Quarterback, Running Back, Wide Receiver, Tight End, Kicker, and even Defense/Special Teams. Then, under each position, I started adding players’ names.
- Quarterbacks: I wrote this name under Quarterbacks.
- Running Backs: I wrote this name under Running Backs.
- Wide Receivers: I wrote this name under Wide Receivers.
- Tight Ends: I wrote this name under Tight Ends.
- Kickers:I wrote this name under Kickers.
I used different colors to code them based on how confident I felt about their ranking. Green for “definitely draft,” yellow for “maybe,” and red for “consider only if desperate.”It looked basiclly.
Refining and Revising
The spreadsheet wasn’t perfect, of course. I kept going back and adjusting it as I learned more. Some players I initially thought were top-tier ended up getting bumped down based on injury reports or changes in team strategy. It was a constant process of refining and revising. I read a lot of details, and finally, I had my own personalized cheat sheet for draft day!
It was a lot of work, but it felt good to have my own, personalized rankings based on all the research I did. Now, let’s just hope my picks actually perform well this season!
