Okay, here’s my personal journey of creating my 2024 fantasy football list, written in a casual, blog-style format:
Alright, so, another year, another fantasy football season looming. Time to get my butt in gear and start prepping! I always start with a super basic list, because, let’s be real, who really knows what’s gonna happen? But you gotta start somewhere, right?
Getting Started: The Blank Slate
First, I grabbed my trusty notebook – yeah, I’m still old school like that – and a pen. I could’ve used a spreadsheet, but there’s something satisfying about physically writing stuff down. I just jotted down “2024 Fantasy Football” at the top. Seriously, that’s it. Blank page staring back at me.
Brain Dump Time!
Next, I started listing out players. Just any names that popped into my head. The big ones, obviously – the guys everyone knows. I wasn’t even thinking about positions or anything yet, just pure name recognition. I threw down some of my personal favorites, too – you know, the guys I hope will have a killer season (totally unbiased, of course 😉).
Filling in the Gaps: The “Obvious” Picks
After the initial brain dump, I started getting a little more organized. I went position by position, making sure I had at least a few QBs, RBs, WRs, and TEs listed. I still wasn’t getting too deep into rankings, just making sure I had a decent spread of players to work with. This is where I did the glace at some big draft guides.
Digging Deeper: Adding Some Depth
Now for the real work. I started looking at last year’s stats, trying to remember who surprised me, who disappointed, and who got injured (ugh, the worst!).This part is where I find some website information, and add some player names.
- Looked at total points scored.
- Checked out average points per game.
- Noted any major injuries that might affect performance this year.
Rough Ranking: My Gut Feeling
With all those names and numbers swimming in my head, I took a stab at some rough rankings. I didn’t get too scientific about it – just went with my gut feeling. Who do I think will be top 10? Top 20? This is where my personal biases definitely came into play. I’m not gonna lie, I probably bumped up a few of my favorite players a little higher than they should be. 🤫
Sleepers and Busts: The Fun Part
Every list needs some sleepers and potential busts, right? This is the fun part – making some bold predictions!
I did have a completed list, I looked at the entire list and make some bold predictions!

And there you have it – my 2024 fantasy football list! It’s not perfect, it’s definitely not set in stone, but it’s a starting point. I’ll keep tweaking it, adding to it, and probably completely redoing it a dozen times before the season starts. But hey, that’s half the fun of fantasy football, right?
