Alright, so I decided to get my feet wet with some Fantasy Football PPR mock drafts today. It’s still pretty early, but I like to get a feel for player values and see how different strategies play out.

First thing I did was hop onto one of those free mock draft websites. There are a bunch out there, just gotta find one that suits ya’.
Getting Started
I jumped into a 12-team PPR mock. Figured that’s a pretty standard league size, and PPR (points per reception) is my favorite format. Gotta love those wide receivers getting extra points!
The Draft Itself
- Early Rounds: Snagged a couple of stud running backs first. Figured that’s a safe bet, even with the PPR format. There are a few backs this year that are expected to get the volume.
- Middle Rounds: Went pretty heavy on wide receivers here. Grabbed a few guys I think are undervalued and could have breakout seasons. Also made sure to get a decent tight end.
- Late Rounds: Filled out my bench with some high-upside players. Grabbed a rookie running back that might surprise some people, and a veteran receiver that I think will outperform his draft position, and a reliable quaterback.
I did a few different drafts, tried out some different stuff. In one, I went all-in on receivers early, and in another, I waited on quarterback until really late. Just experimenting, ya know?
My First draft Team
- Quaterback: Good old, but reliable quaterback.
- Running Back: Two Solid RBs with good potential.
- Wide Receiver: There WRs with high expectations.
- Tight End:A rising player in a good team.
- Flex: A breakout candidate.
- Kicker:Doesn’t matter, just random.
- Bench: Mix of high-upside guys and some safer bets.
What I Learned
After running through a few drafts, a few things that stood out. First, it felt like running backs were flying off the board early. Gotta be prepared to grab them if you want ’em. Second, there’s a TON of depth at wide receiver this year. You can wait a bit and still get some solid guys. And third, don’t sleep on those late-round quarterbacks! There are some good values to be had.
It’s all about trying to get the most bang for your buck. You don’t have to follow the crowd, you can zig when everyone else zags, that’s the best part of these mock drafts!
Of course, it’s just practice. Things will change, injuries will happen, and some players will exceed expectations while others will disappoint. But that’s the fun of Fantasy Football, right? These mocks are just a way to get my brain working and start thinking about the season. Good luck for any of your own drafts!
