Alright, so I decided to get serious about my fantasy football league this year. I mean, really serious. No more last-minute lineup scrambles. No more relying on gut feelings. I wanted to dominate, and that meant getting my hands on some solid player rankings, specifically for a PPR (points per reception) league.

First, I started Googling around. I just typed in “fantasy football player rankings ppr” and, boom, a ton of stuff popped up. I felt like I had dived into the deep end of the pool. So many websites, so many opinions, so many numbers!
I spent a good few hours just clicking through different sites. I wanted to find rankings that made sense to me, you know? Something that felt reliable and was updated often.
I started by making a simple list, jotting down the names of players that kept popping up in the top 10 or 20 across different sites. Guys like, you know, the usual suspects – star running backs and wide receivers. I figured if multiple sources agreed on a player, there was probably a good reason.
Then came the real work: I decided to create my own spreadsheet. Yup, a good old-fashioned spreadsheet. I listed out all the players I was interested in, then started plugging in their projected stats from various sources. I looked at things like:
- Projected Receptions: Super important in PPR, obviously.
- Projected Receiving Yards: More yards, more points.
- Projected Receiving Touchdowns: Touchdowns are king!
- Projected Rushing Attempts/Yards: Even for receivers, some rushing stats can be a nice bonus.
I did this every day, checking for any huge changes or big news. I put players who were injured on a seperat list.
After a while, it started to be a bit tedious, to be honest. There’s a lot of data out there. But I stuck with it, updating my spreadsheet every few days, trying to get a feel for who was consistently ranked high and who was starting to slip.
So, that’s pretty much my system. I looked at a bunch of different rankings, figured out who the consensus top players were, and then built my own spreadsheet to track their projected stats. It took some time, but now I feel way more prepared for my draft. Wish me luck!
