Okay, here’s my blog post about my 2024 NFL Fantasy Mock Draft experience, written in a casual, first-person style, like a real person’s diary:

Alright, so I decided to jump into a 2024 NFL fantasy mock draft. I’ve done a few in the past, but never this early in the season. Figured, what the heck, let’s see how things might shake out.
First thing I did was find a platform. You know, gotta pick a website, set your draft settings. This time I did that with the first website on google. I went with a standard 12-team PPR (Points Per Reception) setup, because, well, that’s what I’m used to. Then, I hit “start” and waited for the room to fill up. It’s always a mixed bag of people – some super serious, some just messing around.
Getting Into the Draft
I got assigned the 5th pick, I was kinda hoping for a top-3, but hey, 5th isn’t bad. The draft started, and as predict, top player went quick.
My turn came up, and my choice, boom, grabbed them. I was feeling pretty good, always nice to get a top player.
- Round 2 & 3: Time to think about WR or RB, depending on who’s available. And I was surprise! Some good players left. so I picked two of them.
- Middle Rounds: This is where it gets tricky. You’re looking for value, sleepers, guys who might outperform their draft position. And this is where you need to remember to be flexible. Don’t get too locked into one position. I grabbed a mix of WRs, RBs, and even a TE I thought was undervalued.
- Late Rounds: Fliers, baby! These are your lottery tickets. Guys who are probably backups, but have potential if the starter gets hurt. I went for a couple of rookie RBs and a WR on a team with a shaky QB situation (thinking maybe he’ll get a ton of targets).
The Result
After a couple of hours of clicking and choosing, the mock draft was done. It is not perfect. There are always a few picks I look back on and think, “Eh, maybe I should’ve gone a different direction.” But overall, I felt okay about it.
The big takeaway? It’s just a mock draft. It’s practice, a way to get a feel for player values, and to test out different strategies. It’s not the end-all, be-all of fantasy football. So, I did the mock, got my practice in, and now I’m feeling a little more ready for the real drafts later this summer.
Now, time to do another one, and hopefully, get a better sense of the players I can target!
