Alright, so I decided to get serious about my fantasy football league this year. You know, actually try to win instead of just picking players with cool names. First thing I needed? A solid list of players, ranked and ready to go. So, I started with the most basic step.

Getting Started: The Initial Dump
I opened up a new spreadsheet. Yep, a blank, intimidating spreadsheet. Then, I just started typing. I listed every single player I could think of, just off the top of my head. Quarterbacks, running backs, wide receivers, tight ends, even some kickers and defenses I remembered being good. It was a mess, completely unorganized, but it was a start.
Organizing the Chaos
Next, I needed to make this mess usable. I created columns for position, team, and then I got down to stats. I added columns for things like projected points, average draft position (ADP), and even some notes about injuries or potential breakout players.
- Position: QB, RB, WR, TE, K, DEF
- Team: Which NFL team they play for.
- Projected Points: How many points they’re expected to score.
- ADP: Where they’re usually being drafted in other leagues.
- Notes: Anything important, like injuries.
I color-coded the postion, made my eyes feel better.
Filling in the Blanks
Then came the real work. I spent hours, honestly, just going through website after website, checking stats and expert opinions and filling * then I did my best to fill in the blanks
It took a while, but I finally had a pretty comprehensive list. Not perfect, of course, but definitely good enough to get me started with my draft prep. I felt like a real pro, ha! This is way better than winging it like I usually do.
