Fantasy football rankings: Who are the best players to pick? (plus sleepers and busts to watch)

So, I started playing fantasy football a few years back, a bunch of us from work decided to give it a shot. I mean, we watched football all the time anyway, why not make it a bit more interesting, right?

First thing we did was choose a platform. There are a ton of them out there, but we went with one of the big ones. You know, the ones that are always advertising during games. It was pretty easy to set up our league, we just needed to invite everyone and set a draft date.

Now, the draft is where it gets fun. We all gathered at my buddy’s place, ordered some pizza, and cracked open a few beers. The draft is basically where you pick your team for the season. You go round by round, selecting players from different NFL teams. There’s a bit of strategy involved, like you don’t want to pick all quarterbacks in the first few rounds. You gotta spread it out, get some running backs, wide receivers, you know, the whole shebang.

  • Quarterbacks: This was tough. Some of my friends snatched up the big names like Jalen Hurts early on.
  • Running Backs: I tried to focus on guys who get a lot of touches, even if they weren’t superstars.
  • Wide Receivers: Khalil Shakir was a steal! I grabbed him later in the draft, and he ended up being a consistent scorer.

After the draft, we had our teams. Now, each week during the NFL season, we’d set our lineups. This is where you pick which of your players you think will do best that week, based on their matchups and stuff. You got your starters, and then you got your bench. It’s like being a real coach, but without the yelling and the million-dollar salary.

We used the website’s tools to help us make these decisions. It shows projections and expert analysis, which can be helpful, especially if you don’t have time to watch every single game. But sometimes, you gotta go with your gut. I remember one week I started a guy everyone said was a bad play, and he ended up having a monster game. Won me the week!

Throughout the season, we’d make trades, pick up free agents, and trash talk each other in our group chat. It was a blast. I even made it to the playoffs a couple of times. Haven’t won the championship yet, but hey, there’s always next season. I learned a lot about football and had fun with my friends.

And I just keep tracking some news for helping my lineup. Some experts shared their own rankings. This is really helpful because I can find potential sleepers or breakouts. Also, there is a Top 150 ranking of the best players. It can be used in regular redraft formats.

This year, I’m feeling good. I got some solid players in the draft, and I’m ready to dominate. Well, at least I hope so. Fantasy football is unpredictable, but that’s what makes it so exciting. You never know what’s gonna happen, and that’s part of the fun.
